After days of relentless searching, the body of missing Glee actress Naya Rivera has been found.
A body was discovered yesterday, Monday, July 13, 2020, at Lake Piru and was identified as that of the actress, with no evidence of foul play.
According to reports, Naya Rivera used up her last energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself.
Rivera and her son had rented a pontoon boat at Lake Piru on Wednesday last week, and those who rescued the child were told by him that his mother had gone into the water to swim, but did not return.
Her son told investigators that he had looked back and had seen her disappear under the surface of the water.
33-year-old Rivera was presumed dead after she went missing on Wednesday, and her body was found floating in the northeast area of the lake where the water is between 35 and 60 feet deep. She was found after a 6-day search.
The body has been taken to Ventura County Coroner’s Office where it will be further identified through dental records.
Naya Rivera was best known for her portrayal of Santana Lopez on Glee, appearing in almost every episode of the beloved musical comedy-drama which ended in 2015.
