Nasarawa APC Stakeholders Demand Arrest of Former Chairman and Impersonators
Alleged Impersonators in Nasarawa APC: Stakeholders Forum Demands Apprehension

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum has called for the immediate arrest of Hon. Samuel Akala, the former Chairman of Karu Local Government, and other individuals claiming to represent the APC stakeholders in the state. The demand for arrest comes in response to a series of press conferences held by an anonymous group using the party’s name, allegedly for the purpose of impersonation and causing security threats.

Dr. Kassim Muhammed Kassim, the State Chairman of the Council of APC Stakeholders Forum, addressed the issue during a press conference in Lafia. He emphasized the urgency of apprehending the leader of the anonymous group responsible for perpetuating security threats and creating discord through misleading press conferences that unjustly implicate the Governor. Dr. Kassim stated that the true motive behind these actions is to provoke tribal and religious conflicts within the state.

“We urgently appeal for their apprehension, as their actions are solely aimed at causing unrest and defaming the Governor,” Dr. Kassim declared. He further emphasized that there is no legitimate organization named “Concerned Nasarawa APC Stakeholders” in the state, asserting that the only recognized APC Stakeholders Forum is the one led by himself.

Dr. Kassim challenged Hon. Samuel Akala to come to Lafia, the state capital, instead of hiding in Abuja, to hold his press conferences if he truly believes in the authenticity of his claims. He reiterated that no responsible and genuine APC stakeholder would endorse a proposed PDP Speakership candidate in an APC state like Nasarawa.

The former member of the state Assembly went on to clarify that the so-called Concerned APC Stakeholders group holds no official status or recognition in Nasarawa State. Their actions and statements, he stated, should be regarded as mere attempts to gain unwarranted attention and spread falsehoods.

Dr. Kassim also addressed the baseless accusations and slanderous assaults directed at the Chief Judge and the Governor, asserting that they are motivated by personal agendas rather than genuine concerns.

Regarding the membership count of Hon. Daniel Ogazi’s group, Dr. Kassim refuted their claim of having 13 members, stating that they only have 10. He urged the public not to be misled by such claims.

“Furthermore, it is important to highlight that there are ongoing court cases related to this matter. One case is scheduled to be heard this month at the Federal High Court in Lafia, while another case is pending until October 12th at the Federal High Court in Abuja,” Dr. Kassim explained. He clarified that neither court has issued a restraining order banning the 14 members led by Balarabe from participating in Assembly sessions.

Addressing the issue of salaries, Dr. Kassim clarified that there is no authority or law stating that members who have not been inaugurated should receive payment.

“As long as the law is concerned, the 10 members led by Hon. Daniel Ogazi are not yet inaugurated, and they will not be paid until they present themselves for inauguration,” he added.

Dr. Kassim concluded by urging the 10 members led by Hon. Daniel Ogazi to accept defeat and return to the Assembly for effective representation, rather than engaging in a leadership struggle.

The call for the arrest of Hon. Samuel Akala and the alleged impersonators by the Nasarawa State APC Stakeholders Forum demonstrates their commitment to maintaining security and upholding the integrity of the party. The authenticity of the Concerned Nasarawa APC Stakeholders group remains in question, and further investigations are needed to determine their true intentions
