The Governor made this declaration during a thanksgiving service held at the Living Spring Chapel International in Aduloju, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.

Makinde said he had prayed to God to guide his fate in the election and not to be re-elected if he was not going to make a positive impact and leave a good legacy in the state.

He went on to say that he believed everything went according to plan, and his re-election was an act of divine intervention.

Furthermore, he made a promise to work even harder to ensure the people of Oyo State benefit from his administration.

“Before now, I kept telling God that if I will not perform and leave a legacy that will move people from poverty to prosperity, then, I should not win the second term election,” Makinde was quoted as saying.

“But, everything went well and I can only say it happened by divine intervention.

“So, I am standing on God’s altar to promise the people of Oyo state that I will even work harder to bring more benefits to the people.”

During the service, the Governor also assured the residents of Oyo State that they should not have any doubts about his performance during his second term.

He explained that his plans for the state had been outlined in the “Oyo State Roadmap for Sustainable Development, 2023 to 2027,” and his administration would monitor their progress to ensure the goals were achievable.

Femi Emmanuel, the presiding pastor of the Living Spring Church, offered prayers for the Governor and his team’s success.

He noted that Governor Makinde’s victory went beyond human power and urged him to focus on leaving a positive legacy during his second term in office.
