The Headies event which celebrated music acts across Africa witnessed the attendance of the Lagos state governor.
A video that emerged online captured the moment the Lagos state governor presented an award to Wizkid in an outfit that was out of his norms.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented Wizkid‘s award to his manager, Sunday Are while emphasizing the impacts of youth in the entertainment industry.
The governor’s attendance, however, was condemned by netizens who reflected on the 2020 massacre in Lagos during the EndSARs protest.
Others questioned the correlation of his job as a governor of a state to the award event that involved music acts.
