Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has opened up on why his marriage to fellow actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been a long and happy affair.
The pair have been married for 19 years and Douglas was quite frank in an interview with US Weekly as to the reason behind the happy union.
I think it just comes out of courtesy. You know, I think sometimes we take the person closest to us for granted. I would say sometimes that we make more of an effort with strangers than we do with the person who’s closest to us. Michael Kirk Douglas has had an astonishingly successful career as a Hollywood actor. He is a recipient of numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and the AFI Life Achievement Award.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from the University of California. His early acting roles included film, stage, and television productions.
Douglas married Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones on November 18, 2000. They were both born on September 25, though 25 years apart. They have two children.
