Maleek Berry: From Production And Back Ups To A Maestro
Maleek Shoyebi (Berry) is a sparkling gold now!

Kicking off his career in 2007, Berry was an underground act in South London, UK. Upon meeting IKES, a rapper precisely from the heart of North London the two just clicked and began working on records together and became Maleek’s long-term partner in his musical career.

After that, Maleek Berry then went on to produce for big-time UK acts such as S.A.S, Bigz, Scorcher, Jermaine Riley (Formally of FDM) and more.

Back to 2009, Maleek Berry kept focus on trying to learn his craft and infusing things with formal education. Bagging a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science that’s wow. Berry also learned something that has really helped his sound. That is, learning to play the piano with his ears.

A young chap then, with the mind to explore and creativity living on him, Maleek Berry was not only satisfied with creating contents on his home turf and thought of spreading wings to his original home, Nigeria.

In the summer time of 2011, Berry came by air to Nigeria for family holiday, but as guy that thinks out of the box he took advantage of this trip to make steady connections that later changed his status.

Maleek Berry was quick to spark relationships with top raving artists that year such as Wizkid, Naeto C, Wande Coal through his good friend and artist Davido.

Maleek’s first obvious contribution to the Nigerian music scene was ‘Carolina’ a 2011 smash hit single by Sauce Kid featuring Davido. ‘Carolina’ was the actual song that brought Sauce Kid back to the Nigerian music scene after a short break and he added to his list the smashing ‘The Matter’ which he featured Wizkid and this was the exact song that introduced Berry to Nigeria.

Maleek Berry without any doubt is a pure breed of talent, he did back ups, sung and produced on body of works by Wande Coal for ‘Wanted’ , Runtown’sGhetto University‘ and produced a song on Wizkid’s second studio album, ‘Ayo (Joy)’ .

Today, Maleek Berry is one of the best music artists in the country as his music always sounds outside the box. He sounds different and his visuals as well.

His EP Last Daze Of The Summer – LDOS is a frolicking project that is above par. We hope to see Maleek Berry continue flying in colours and shine!
