The Obi-Datti Movement, a support group within the Labour Party (LP), has stated that their Vice Presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, along with the OBIdients, are ready to take on the TV debate challenge issued by Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka. As previously reported by TRIBUNE ONLINE, Soyinka had recently challenged Baba-Ahmed to an open debate in response to his claims regarding the 2023 general elections.

In an interview on Arise TV, the spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Movement, Prof Chris Nwakobia, expressed confidence in their ability to perform well in the debate. “Oh yes, he will and effectively so. The least of the Obidients can take up that debate and do profoundly. I know Prof Wole Soyinka, I know he will not go for that debate because the point is that history is replete with facts and figures,” Nwakobia asserted when asked if Baba-Ahmed would be willing to engage in a debate with Soyinka.

In recent days, there have been heated exchanges between supporters of the LP presidential candidate and Prof. Soyinka over the latter’s use of the term “fascism” to describe the OBIdient Movement. The Obi-Datti Movement has expressed readiness to engage in a TV debate with Soyinka, while it remains to be seen if Soyinka will take up the challenge.
