Kwara State Polytechnic Punishes Student for Cultism, Withdraws Certificate
HND Certificate Revoked for Cultism at Kwara State Polytechnic

In a decisive move, the authorities of Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin have withdrawn the Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate of AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji, a student in the Public Administration Department, due to his involvement in cultism. The decision was made known through an official statement issued by Mr. Olayemi Olatomi, the Deputy Registrar of the institution.

The management expressed their concern over AbdulRasheed’s engagement in cultism, citing the violation of the matriculation oath he had taken upon joining the institution. This grave misconduct has prompted the withdrawal of his certificate, as the authorities believe that his actions demonstrate a lack of character and dedication to his studies.

The decision to revoke AbdulRasheed’s certificate came after careful consideration of the report submitted by the Polytechnic’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee. The committee thoroughly investigated the matter and concluded that his involvement in cultism warranted severe consequences.

In addition to the withdrawal of his certificate, the Polytechnic has taken another significant step by placing a hold on AbdulRasheed’s mobilization for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This action effectively delays his participation in the NYSC program until further notice.

The management’s statement read, “The Authority of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has approved the immediate withdrawal of Higher National Diploma Certificate of AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji of Public Administration Department of the institution for his involvement in cultism, contrary to the matriculation oath he sworn to.”

The statement continued, “This decision was based on the report of the Polytechnic’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee. AbdulRasheed’s involvement in cultism is a pointer to the fact that he is not worthy in character and learning to earn the certificate of the institution. In view of this, mobilization of AbdulRasheed to the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been put on hold.”

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment for all students. By taking this firm stance against cultism, the institution sends a clear message that such activities will not be tolerated and that students are expected to uphold the values and principles outlined in their matriculation oaths.

As the news of AbdulRasheed’s certificate withdrawal spreads, it serves as a reminder to other students that engaging in cultism can have severe consequences, potentially jeopardizing their academic and professional futures. The Polytechnic hopes that this action will act as a deterrent, fostering a culture of discipline, integrity, and excellence among its student body.

For further updates and developments, the authorities of Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin have assured the public and the media that they will continue to prioritize the welfare and safety of their students, while upholding the highest standards of education and discipline within the institution.
