Muktar Bajeh, the Majority leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, tendered his resignation from his position on Thursday, citing a future responsibility that requires his immediate attention. Bajeh’s resignation was contained in a letter personally signed by him and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Matthew Kolawole, dated March 20.
In the letter, Bajeh expressed his deep regret and revealed that the decision to resign was a difficult one. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve as the Chief Whip and later as the Majority leader of the House since its inception. He further went on to express his gratitude to his colleagues, especially the Speaker, and the executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Bajeh’s resignation is effective immediately and he hopes that the House will quickly fill the vacant position of Majority leader. The lawmaker assured the Speaker and his colleagues of his utmost support and wished them all the best in their future endeavors.
