Renowned rapper Kanye West is now embroiled in a legal battle following a highly charged encounter with a photographer. The incident, previously reported by TMZ, occurred in January when Kanye halted his vehicle and confiscated the photographer’s phone before flinging it into the street.

The incident unfolded as Kanye, accompanied by his wife, Bianca Censori, was departing from one of their daughter North West’s basketball games. In the midst of the departure, Kanye noticed a group of paparazzi trailing behind him.

According to Nichol Lechmanik, one of the photographers involved, Kanye was engaged in a heated altercation with another paparazzo. Lechmanik expressed concern that Kanye may have been concealing a weapon, heightening her fear during the encounter.

In a recently filed lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Lechmanik details her distress, asserting that she believed Kanye might target her next. Video evidence captured Kanye approaching Lechmanik, who was seated in the driver’s seat of her car, as she filmed him with her phone and shouted, “You all ain’t gonna run up on me like that!”

Kanye admonished her, stating, “If I say stop, stop with your cameras.” He then forcefully seized her phone and threw it, causing it to land in oncoming traffic, as depicted in the footage.

The incident was recorded by Lechmanik’s business partner, who was in the passenger seat, and she claims that Kanye approached their side of the vehicle, glaring at them with an intense “death stare.” Following the encounter, Lechmanik promptly visited the Sheriff’s Department to file a report.

Although Kanye West was initially named a suspect in a battery investigation by law enforcement, he ultimately evaded charges. Nevertheless, Lechmanik asserts that the incident left her traumatized and humiliated, resulting in financial losses due to her inability to resume her work photographing celebrities.

In the aftermath of the altercation, Kanye has exhibited a changed approach, as he now directly involves law enforcement whenever photographers approach him, a practice he employed even on Valentine’s Day.

Lechmanik’s lawsuit against Kanye West encompasses allegations of assault, battery, and negligence. Interestingly, she also seeks an injunction that would prohibit Kanye from physically contacting, harassing, or threatening not only herself but any photographer—an ambitious request that may face significant challenges.

As legal proceedings unfold, fans and industry observers remain captivated by the developments surrounding Kanye West’s latest legal dispute.
