The richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, has now made history, becoming the first man to be worth $200 billion.

The Amazon CEO achieved the feat on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, as shares of his online shopping business experienced a surge in profit as demand for online shopping continues to skyrocket.

56-year-old Bezos is now $77.7 billion richer than Microsoft boss Bill Gates, who held the title of the richest man in the world for a long time but now takes the number two position with a net worth of $124.3 billion.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg comes in third as he is worth $114.7 billion, as revealed by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Excluding Bezos, the next ten richest people in the world have seen their wealth grow by more than $150 billion this year, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who saw $73.6 billion added to his net worth as his electric automaker’s stick also skyrocketed.
