According to reports, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has confirmed that the commission will provide all requested documents to the Labour Party’s (LP) legal team for the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Yakubu stated that all documents at the commission’s headquarters will be provided immediately, and he plans to meet with the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioners on Monday to discuss how other documents at the state level can be made available to the party.
The meeting between Yakubu and the LP’s legal team took place at the INEC headquarters in Abuja on Monday. During the meeting, Yakubu assured the LP’s legal team that INEC has nothing to hide and that they will provide all documents requested by the LP. The LP’s legal team visited the INEC headquarters to discuss the procedures for obtaining the documents.
