Nigerian R&B singer Iyanya Mbuk has revealed that he is scared of getting married.
The singer disclosed this while speaking in the latest episode of WithChude. The 36-year-old musician cited his childhood experiences as the reason behind his fears.
Iyanya said, “I like to say it has a joke to my friends that one day someone will come out and say you forgot your baby somewhere. To be real here, I pray to God for a beautiful home. It’s not easy because my experiences as a child have made it difficult for me to just settle for anything.”
While he expressed his desire to get married and be in a serious relationship, Iyanya confessed that marriage is a scary prospect for him. He believes that a beautiful marriage and a beautiful home are possible through prayer and perseverance.
Mbuk also spoke about his early days in the industry, where he thought it was acceptable to show off his relationships with female celebrities. However, he soon realized that it was not healthy, especially when the foundation of the relationship was not solid.
The singer also discussed the challenges of being in a serious relationship in the entertainment industry, where sacrificing shows and tours is necessary. He stated, “It’s a whole lot of things, and all I just want to do is to sort out my life before I start bringing a woman into it. I’m just trying to make sure I’m okay.”
