Davido, the renowned Afrobeats star, has expressed profound gratitude to the federal government for bestowing upon him a national honor, the Officer of the Order of The Niger (OON).
The prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions and achievements in various fields, making it one of the highest civilian honors in Nigeria.
Last Sunday, the federal government announced a list of 339 individuals who were nominated to receive national honors, acknowledging their remarkable accomplishments. Among the notable recipients were Davido, Victor Osimhen, a professional footballer, and Kunle Afolayan, a renowned filmmaker.
Taking to his Instagram account on Wednesday, Davido shared his elation and stated: “Honored to hear the news that I have been conferred with an OON ( Officer of the Order of The Niger) by the Federal Government,” he wrote.
“I am grateful for this recognition and honor. It has always been my mission to use my platform to showcase our country- the passion, the resilience, the joy, the culture, and of course the struggles of our people.
“I do not take any of this for granted. We have one Nigeria and we will continue to do whatever we must to make it better!
