Robert Pattinson has revealed that his recent casting as DC’s crime fighter Batman came as a shock to him as he still can’t comprehend how he landed the iconic role.
The announcement that Pattinson was going to play Bruce Wayne’s alter ego was met with outrage from many as he isn’t considered to fit the mold of the charismatic character. But former Batman actor, Christian Bale, has shown support for Pattinson’s casting, saying that the choice is a good one.
Now Patterson has disclosed that he was also taken aback by his getting the coveted role and that he thought it was insane.
It’s kind of insane. I was far away from thinking it was a realistic prospect. I do not understand how I got it all. I’d had Batman in my mind for a while. It’s such an absurd thing to say. I’d had an idea to do it and I had been prodding Matt (the director). He did not accept any prods.
