Guinness Records Breaks Silence As More Nigerians Attempt World Records

Taking to their official Twitter account, GWR management reminded individuals aiming to shatter existing world records to register their ambitious endeavors beforehand.

The Nigerian population has been gripped by a fervor to surpass various world records, which was sparked by Hilda Baci’s remarkable feat.

In a remarkable display of culinary prowess, Baci undertook a 100-hour cook-a-thon and emerged triumphant. This extraordinary culinary marathon, which took place in May, aimed to establish a new record for the longest cooking session.

Baci’s daring endeavor challenged the existing record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, back in 2019.

After meticulous scrutiny and evaluation by the GWR officials, Baci’s remarkable achievement was recognized and certified as a new record. However, it was determined that her cooking marathon lasted for an impressive 93 hours, just shy of her initial target.

Following in Baci’s footsteps, Damilola Adeparusi, another talented chef, embarked on a five-day cooking marathon, seeking to push the boundaries of endurance in the culinary realm.

Soon after, Adeyeye Adeola emerged on the scene, aiming to surpass Baci’s record with an astonishing 150-hour cooking marathon. Additionally, Temitope Adebayo, a chef based in Ibadan, publicly declared his intention to cook for over 120 hours, joining the growing list of ambitious record-breakers.

In an unexpected turn of events, Hassan Joshua Bature, a computer science lecturer at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), surprised many when he revealed plans to embark on a 150-hour teaching marathon.

Coinciding with these remarkable endeavors, Joyce Ijeoma, a Nigerian masseur vying for the title of the longest massage on different individuals, unfortunately, collapsed during her record-breaking attempt.

In a concise statement, GWR emphasized the importance of contacting their team for official verification before undertaking any world record-breaking attempt.

This reminder aimed to ensure that participants follow the appropriate protocol and undergo the necessary process to have their record title confirmed by the esteemed GWR team.

Polite reminder that you should probably have your world record title confirmed by our team before attempting it. Here’s how our process works,” GWR conveyed in its statement, signifying the significance of adhering to their guidelines.

As the Nigerian population continues to push the boundaries of human capabilities and strive for extraordinary accomplishments, GWR’s reminder serves as a vital checkpoint to ensure fair play and authentication in the pursuit of breaking world records.
