Senator Uba Sani, the governor-elect of Kaduna State, has pledged to govern the state with focus and unrelenting dedication for the next four years. The announcement was made during his acceptance speech delivered in Kaduna on Monday night when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of the governorship election. Senator Sani expressed his gratitude to the people of Kaduna State for their trust and confidence in him and his running mate, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
In his speech, Senator Sani acknowledged the people’s mandate and stated that he and his team would carry out their democratic directives with focus and unrelenting dedication. He also assured the people that his administration would govern for all, regardless of their political affiliations, religious beliefs, or ethnic background. The main goal of his administration, he said, would be to continue the progress, peace, and prosperity of the state.
Senator Sani thanked the outgoing governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, and his executive team for their collective efforts since 2015 in building the foundations for a new Kaduna State. He also thanked all APC leaders at all levels, members of his campaign council, party supporters, and various support groups for their tireless efforts in carrying the party’s message to the people. The senator also acknowledged the traditional, community, and religious leaders for their roles in fostering an atmosphere of peace in the state.
Senator Sani expressed gratitude to the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and President Muhammadu Buhari for their consistent support during the election. He noted that while democratic contestations end with the declaration of one candidate as the winner, everyone is a winner when the people freely declare their preferences on the ballot. Senator Sani called on his fellow contestants to continue to make their contributions to Kaduna State.
Senator Sani acknowledged that much had been achieved since 2015, but much still needed to be done to drive Kaduna State closer to its potential. Therefore, he and his team would devote their efforts in the next few days to ensure that they could begin to govern effectively from May 29, 2023, with the standards of efficiency and clarity set by the current government.
In conclusion, Senator Sani expressed his deep appreciation for the people’s mandate and pledged to govern the state with the utmost dedication and focus for the next four years.
