Governor Alex Otti Makes Key Appointments to Strengthen Abia State Administration
Governor Otti Bolsters Abia State Government with High-profile Appointments

In a move aimed at bolstering his administration, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has made several key appointments, including Mr. Ugochukwu Okoroafor, a former director of corporate communication of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), as his Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation. The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mr. Kazie Uko, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Alongside this appointment, Governor Otti also named Hon Iheanacho Obioma, the Director General of his campaign council, as his Special Adviser on Political Affairs. In a bid to invigorate the sporting sector, the ex-Super Eagles player, Kanu Nwankwo, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Enyimba International Football Club of Aba. In addition, the former Eaglets coach, John Sam Obuh, will serve as the Chairman of Abia Warriors FC, while Boniface Alozie Uche emerged as the Chairman of Abia Comets FC.

The extensive list of appointments includes several other individuals who will take up significant roles in the Abia State government. Prof Ijeoma Iheukwumere has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant for Environment, and Mr. Odinakachi Eric Eme will serve as the Senior Special Assistant for Multilateral and Donor Agencies. Mr. Nwaka Inem has been designated as the Special Adviser on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, while Magdalene Ugoanusi will assume the position of Senior Special Assistant for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. Furthermore, Mr. Martins Okechukwu Justice has been appointed as the Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment.

The list of appointments also features several other highly capable individuals, including Mr. Ishmael Onuoha as the Senior Special Assistant for Cooperative Societies, and Dr. George Chidozie as the Senior Special Assistant for Special Duties. Pastor Okorougo Aji will serve as the Special Assistant for Lands and Housing, while Dr. Obioma Nwogbe assumes the role of Senior Special Assistant for Transport. Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba has been entrusted with the responsibility of Senior Special Assistant for Homeland Security, and Ven. (Dr.) Joshua Onyeike has been appointed as the General Manager of ASOPADEC. Additionally, Pastor Dike Nwankwo will serve as the Director General of the Abia State Orientation Agency.

The remaining appointees include Dr. Uloaku Ukaegbu, who will be the Director of the Abia State Agency for Control of AIDS, and Dr. Eric Egwuibe, who will serve as the Senior Special Assistant for Budget and Planning. Dr. Anthony Nwaubani will take up the role of Senior Special Assistant for Finance, while Mr. Ogbonnia Okereke has been appointed as the General Manager of ASEPA. Other appointments include Mr. Daniel Chinagozi as the Special Assistant for Digital Economy, Mr. Chinedu Ekeke as the Deputy Chief of Staff cum Senior Special Assistant on Sports and Youth Development, Dr. Oluebube Olunna Chukwu as the Senior Special Assistant for Due Process, and Apostle Kenneth C. Wiper as the Special Assistant on Religious Activities.

The final individuals in the list of appointments are Col. Ezichi Kalu (rtd), who will assume the position of General Manager of the Abia State Road Traffic and Safety Management Agency (ARTSMA), Mrs. Mathilda Anyamele as the Special Assistant for Special Duties, Mrs. Chinwe Kanu Uba as the Special Assistant for Women Mobilization, Mrs. Chinwe Onyeukwu as the Special Assistant for Women Affairs, and Dr. Benson Nwaigburu, who will serve as the General Manager of the Abia State Debt Management Office.

Governor Alex Otti expressed his confidence in the newly appointed individuals, stating that their vast experience and expertise would contribute significantly to the development and progress of Abia State. The appointments reflect the governor’s commitment to assembling a skilled team that will work diligently towards fulfilling his administration’s goals and delivering positive results for the people of Abia State.
