George Floyd, the black American killed by a cop in the United States two months ago, has been honored in Mbaise, Imo State in Nigeria.
Floyd met his untimely demise on May 25, 2020, when a white Minneapolis cop named Derek Chauvin kept his knee on the back of his neck until he lost consciousness.
Now, a clergyman identified as Pastor Humble Okoro has allegedly traced the late Floyd’s ancestral lineage to Mbaise in Imo State.
Pastor Okoro shared photos of himself and other indigenes they ‘reburied’ the slain American in the region, making the announcement on Twitter on July 28, 2020, saying:
I have traced the ancestral root of George Obinna Floyd to Umuoffor kindred in Obokwu Obibi Aboh, Imo State and feel so happy now that we have buried him alongside his ancestors.”
