California firefighters are struggling to contain a raging inferno in the southern part of the city.
Over 2,200 firefighters are involved in the battle to quell the fire which threatens thousands of people and homes east of Los Angeles.
The fire started on Friday, July 31, 2020, near the city of San Bernardino and has so far burnt more than 20,000 acres (8,000 hectares) of land, resulting in huge columns of smoke that can be seen for miles.
The United States Forest Service said that record-low moisture in the vegetation, low humidity, and high temperatures are fueling the blaze.
At least 2,600 homes and 7,800 people have been evacuated as officials said that it remains unclear when they might be able to return.
There have been no reports of casualties and the only damage so far has been two buildings and one home.
