Felabration 2023 To Commences on October 9th

In a highly anticipated announcement, it has been revealed that Felabration 2023, the annual music festival honoring the legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, will kick off on October 9th. This news has set the music and cultural scene ablaze with excitement as fans from all over the world eagerly anticipate the grand event.

This was announced in a press release made available to journalists in Lagos on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Felabration, known for its electrifying performances and vibrant atmosphere, has become a significant fixture in the entertainment calendar, attracting music enthusiasts, artists, and cultural aficionados alike. This year’s edition promises to be no exception, with organizers already hard at work to ensure an unforgettable experience.

According to the organisers, the concert will feature some of the biggest music stars from Nigeria and foreign artists also registered to perform at the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.

Felabration is a week-long celebration of Fela’s legacy as the Afrobeat genre creator and a renowned human rights activist.

Conceived in 1998 by Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti to honour the legacy of her father, Felabration is Nigeria’s biggest music festival today. It hosts tens of thousands of attendees annually.

Currently, Felabration Event is organised by the Felabration Organising Committee. Felabration, an official tourist destination of The Lagos State Government, is a major event sponsor.
