The recently appointed Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has urged supporters and well-wishers to refrain from erecting congratulatory billboards in his honor following his new appointment. This call was made through an official statement issued by the Director of Press in the Office of the Minister, Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, on a serene Sunday afternoon in Abuja.

Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of warm wishes and support from citizens across the nation, Minister Nyesom Wike is seeking to maintain focus on his duties and responsibilities in his new role. Understanding the sentiment behind these displays of goodwill and the citizens’ eagerness to celebrate his appointment, Minister Wike aims to redirect his energy and efforts towards assisting President Bola Tinubu in achieving his vision and agenda for Nigeria’s renewal and progress.

Mr. Ogunleye reiterated, “However, in the spirit of public service and commitment to his responsibilities, the minister wishes to focus his full attention on assisting President Bola Tinubu in realizing his vision and renewed hope agenda for Nigeria.”

The statement highlighted the importance of Minister Wike’s primary duty, which lies in contributing to the development and growth of the FCT while ensuring the well-being of its residents and the nation as a whole. It further underscored the minister’s unwavering commitment to the aspirations and expectations of FCT residents.

“Minister Wike remains dedicated to fulfilling his role with utmost sincerity and dedication, joined with public servants to serve the country to the best of their abilities,” Ogunleye emphasized.

Looking ahead, the minister expressed optimism in the public’s understanding of his perspective and anticipated continued support and cooperation. The statement concluded on a positive note, projecting collaboration with stakeholders to forge a more prosperous, united, and resilient Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria at large.
