Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Ogunleye known as Simi, is being dragged on social media for supporting advocacy for women’s rights and gender equality.
The 31-year old singer in her tweets said feminism makes men feel vulnerable because the society that supported superiority is starting to know and want better for females.
Fans, however, react to the singer’s posts saying that feminism in Nigeria is overrated. See some reactions below:
Feminism makes many men feel so vulnerable, because you find that society that gave you your "superiority card" is starting to know (and want) better for women – and you donno wtf to do. Lol
Gag is, if you support us, life is better for everyone. Don't be afraid ????

Nobody's feeling threatened kankan. Feminism is a confused ideology that takes away more from women than it gives them. It is so contradictory in its attempt of fixing unbroken things. Y'all have done more in establishing the inferiority of the female gender than men have.

I love when women stand for there rights and also know what they worth in the society….but the act of feminism? I don't really like the idea

Real feminism shouldn't make any guy feel inferior. My problem is when some ladies think they can be a man, I'm like nah, we r all equal but at the same time we're not. Everyone has a part to play and what I can't do, you can and what you can't do I can. Kelege megbe

My dear and lovely Simi, engaging in conversations/discussions with Nigerians, is a mood wrecker. They are dumb and close minded and not worth your time. Men will always hate feminism because they feel threatened and that's a fact. https://t.co/CSzkPWCYah

Feminism isn’t a fight against a man , it’s a fight and a call to action , it’s a movement supporting and promoting equality , the man isn’t your enemy , the enemy is the culture , the tradition , the “people” . Throwing derogatory arrows at men isn’t the objective . https://t.co/bjDKjv62sb
