The tech ecosystem has continued to show financial support for #EndSARS as the protest continues globally and one of them is Flutterwave, payment gateway provider.
However, reports have emerged that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has placed on a restriction on Flutterwave and threaten a shutdown for showing support for the ongoing EndSARS protest.
The link to donation has been blocked by the apex bank, TalkGlitz confirms.
Flutterwave offered their support as a donation channel for the EndSARS movement after the CEO, Gbenga Agboola announced the company had raised 2 million naira for the cause.
We've raised 2m so far, and the team decided to open it up to the public.
We are 100% against all forms of violence & brutality and we need to band together to put an end to this.
You can join the donation here – https://t.co/87hm5RdsYN #EndSars

Nigerians are aware of the situation and they are pledging to stand with Flutterwave on whatever action the Central Bank of Nigeria is going to take.

Support flutterwave. They stepped in early to do the risky work of supporting Nigerians. Now Nigeria is fighting back.

The central bank of Nigeria is asking flutterwave to prove that the donations for the protests are not from terrorists.
Wow, I knew they’ll go low, but I didn’t expect them to do deeper than an oil ridge.

I have said it before, this government does nothing but create problems. Imagine going after Flutterwave that’s helping protesters but you can rehabilitate repentant terrorists. So fuvking stupid! #SARSMUSTEND

The Nigerian government claimed to listen to the voice of the people.
Same government is going for flutterwave via the CBN and they’ve also deactivated the account the major funds for protest is going to.
Does that sound like a government that supports us?
NO

For demanding an end to police brutality @feminist_co are now under attack! Their bank account has been deactivated and so has the Flutterwave donation link. The members lives are also being threatened! #SARSMustEnd

Who knew FG could be this efficient and Boko Haram's funding hasn't been frozen.
I think we're dealing with something bigger here.
