The tech ecosystem has continued to show financial support for #EndSARS as the protest continues globally and one of them is Flutterwave, payment gateway provider.
However, reports have emerged that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has placed on a restriction on Flutterwave and threaten a shutdown for showing support for the ongoing EndSARS protest.
The link to donation has been blocked by the apex bank, TalkGlitz confirms.
Flutterwave offered their support as a donation channel for the EndSARS movement after the CEO, Gbenga Agboola announced the company had raised 2 million naira for the cause.
We've raised 2m so far, and the team decided to open it up to the public.
We are 100% against all forms of violence & brutality and we need to band together to put an end to this.
You can join the donation here – https://t.co/87hm5RdsYN #EndSars

Nigerians are aware of the situation and they are pledging to stand with Flutterwave on whatever action the Central Bank of Nigeria is going to take.
Imagine the CBN summoning flutterwave!! That should tell you the kind of country we are in!! The impunity is oozing right in our faces!! We must win this one else the suffering has only just began!!Nigerian Youths have had enough!! #SARSMUSTENDNOW

Support flutterwave. They stepped in early to do the risky work of supporting Nigerians. Now Nigeria is fighting back.
— Mark Essien (@markessien) October 13, 2020
Just heard that flutterwave has been asked to prove that the donations aren't coming from terrorists.
LMAAOOOOO????????OOOOOOOOO!

If government shuts down Flutterwave, it means they are in support of the killings by police. It’s that simple and straight forward. We are all Flutterwave and Flutterwave is us! If they grant everything on #5for5 now and shutdown Flutterwave, the protests will rage on! #ENDSARS
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) October 13, 2020
The Nigerian government is going after Flutterwave and they are trying to posture like they mean young people well??? Can you see this ruse?!
— T. Rankïn' ∆ ???? (@AfroVII) October 13, 2020
If the government successfully shuts down Flutterwave, these protests would have failed. The protesters currently have 5 demands, the list will grow longer the more atrocities government commits #ENDSARS #EndPoliceBrutality #SARSmustEndNow
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) October 13, 2020
Flutterwave a legitimate company is being deemed a terrorist organisation, but Boko Haram are being “reformed” “reintegrated” and “fed” I guess for their contributions to national development from Sambisa forest! #iStandWithFlutterwave #ENDSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) October 13, 2020
If they shutdown Flutterwave, we have a valid claim to submit names to the UK, US, Swiss etc embassies to ban every one involved because that’d be a direct affront on human rights. Not worse than election rigging #iStandWithFlutterwave #ENDSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) October 13, 2020
So it is easier to allegedly go after Flutterwave and Piggybank than to show concrete working that you have #EndedSars?
All people are asking is that our police stop killing innocent people! Why all of this?
— Sandra Ezekwesili (@SEzekwesili) October 13, 2020
No but this Flutterwave thing has me TIGHT. These people don’t understand that we will use messenger pigeons to send money to support protesters if we have to. You cannot stop this movement o! Because we deserve better than the Nigeria you left for us, AND WE MUST HAVE IT!
— Alusi ndi Coven (@TheNoellaE) October 13, 2020
The central bank of Nigeria is asking flutterwave to prove that the donations for the protests are not from terrorists.
Wow, I knew they’ll go low, but I didn’t expect them to do deeper than an oil ridge.
— Pastor Ola ✨ (@Biisi96) October 13, 2020
I have said it before, this government does nothing but create problems. Imagine going after Flutterwave that’s helping protesters but you can rehabilitate repentant terrorists. So fuvking stupid! #SARSMUSTEND
— AG BABY (@adekunleGOLD) October 13, 2020
The Nigerian government claimed to listen to the voice of the people.
Same government is going for flutterwave via the CBN and they’ve also deactivated the account the major funds for protest is going to.
Does that sound like a government that supports us?
NO
— Pastor Ola ✨ (@Biisi96) October 13, 2020
For demanding an end to police brutality @feminist_co are now under attack! Their bank account has been deactivated and so has the Flutterwave donation link. The members lives are also being threatened! #SARSMustEnd
— Dr PamPam | Omo Iya Ologi (@UnclePamilerin) October 13, 2020
And if Flutterwave is a terrorist organisation then I am a terrorist and I want to be jailed for the same reason you want to shut them down. Whatever they did, we did that sh!t together! #iStandWithFlutterwave #ENDSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria #EndPoliceBrutality #SARSMUSTEND

Just heard that flutterwave has been asked to prove that the donations aren't coming from terrorists.
Who knew FG could be this efficient and Boko Haram's funding hasn't been frozen.
I think we're dealing with something bigger here.
