The season 4 opener of Empire got Jamal Lyon and Hakeem Lyon doing an electrifying remix of Lucious’s Love Me originally written by Cookie Lyon.
While the Lyons are trying to help Lucious snap back his lost memories with his own music, Lucious turns out to be a total stranger to his own produced records. But good enough, there’s one sound he can’t get over and that’s ‘I Just Want You To Love Me’ , a song Cookie had written to him while she was in jail.
Lucious finds it not just right that she was not credited as the songwriter and he goes ahead to correct that as he ushers Hakeem and Jamal on stage for the performance.
