The announcement came via a tweet made by Musk on Thursday, in which he indicated that he has already identified the individual who will assume the position of CEO at Twitter.

While Musk refrained from disclosing the name of his successor, he did mention that the new CEO will be a woman.

In his tweet, Musk expressed his excitement, stating, “Excited to announce that I have a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in approximately six weeks!”

Furthermore, he outlined his forthcoming role, explaining that he will transition to the position of executive chair and Chief Technical Officer (CTO), overseeing critical areas such as product development, software engineering, and system operations (sysops).

Should everything proceed as planned, the newly appointed CEO will make history as the first woman to lead the influential social media platform. Throughout its existence, Twitter has been helmed exclusively by male executives, including notable names such as Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Dick Costolo, Parag Agrawal, and Musk himself.

Elon Musk’s decision to step down as CEO of Twitter signifies a significant change in leadership for the platform. The introduction of a female CEO could potentially bring a fresh perspective and a renewed focus on diversity and inclusion within the company.

The transition is eagerly anticipated, and the Twitter community awaits the formal announcement of Musk’s chosen successor in the weeks to come.
