Elon Musk Fires Executives As He Finally Takes Over Twitter
One of the world’s richest men, Elon Musk, has closed a $44 billion dollar deal to take over ownership of social media service, Twitter.

Confirming the take-over, Elon Musk tweeted “the bird is freed”.

When he came into power, he fired a number of top executives such as chief executive Parag Agrawal, as well as the company’s chief financial officer and its head of safety.

After a long ordeal, the billionaire finally closed the deal with Twitter. The saga involved back-and-forth negotiation between Twitter and the billionaire–who tried to back out at one point–over the terms of an acquisition.

Musk tried to back out of the Twitter deal soon after his offer was accepted in April, and he said he cancelled the contract in July because he was misled by Twitter over fake bot accounts – allegations that they rejected.

The takeover came hours before the court-appointed deadline for Musk to seal his on-again, off-again deal to purchase the social media network.
