Edo APC Suspends Newly Appointed Special Adviser, Five Others

One of Gov.Godwin Obaseki’s newly appointed Special Advisers alongside five other party faithfuls have been suspended by the Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress.

The Governor’s S.A on Agriculture and Food Security Programme, Prince Joe Okojie and five others were suspended by the Esan North East Local Government chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Edo State.

Other leaders suspended are Maichael Okojie, Chief Jude Okharedia, Mr. Idogei Ogbejele, Mr. Godfrey Alenbalulu and Mr. Joseph Esekhaegbe.

Their suspension was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman and Secretary of the party in the council, Mr. Vasco Agwi and Mr. Adolphus Imoisili after an enlarged Executive Committee meeting of the party held at Uromi, headquarters of the council.

They accused Prince Okojie of sponsoring thuggery in the party after unilaterally setting up an illegal five-man committee at his private residence with a view to probing the party chairman and secretary.

The statement reads in part;

The said five-man illegal committee forcefully gained entrance into the party secretariat under the cover of heavily armed thugs. This led to breakdown of law and order and in clear breach of Article 21 of the APC constitution.

We pass a vote of no confidence on Prince Joe Okojie as the leader of the APC in Esan North East and we hereby, suspend them following their involvement in illegal activities.

Prince Okojie was yet to respond to the suspension as at the time of filing this report.
