As part of the Dallas Mavericks’ 128-114 triumph over the Phoenix Suns on a joyous Christmas Day, Luka Doncic reached a major career milestone by scoring more than 10,000 points. The Slovenian superstar had a fantastic game in Phoenix, Arizona, when he not only hit this lifetime high but also scored 50 points, dished out 15 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, and made 8 3-pointers.
Doncic, who is only 24 years old, has already made a huge impression in the NBA; this was his sixth game this season in which he scored 50 points. Doncic spoke to ESPN about his joy, saying he was “feeling good” after reaching 10,000 points in 358 games. Together with Bob McAdoo, he is now the seventh-fastest player in NBA history to accomplish this record. With 10,000 points in just 236 games, Wilt Chamberlain still holds the record.
After losing three in a row, the Mavericks snapped their losing skid with a victory over the Suns, their second straight victory. It was the Suns’ ninth loss in their previous twelve games, a trend that continued throughout their recent struggles.
