Music Mogul Faces Backlash After Asking Comedian to Name Influential Entertainer Involved in Scandal
Music executive Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has responded to comedian Oluwadolarz’s shocking revelation about an encounter with a music promoter. Oluwadolarz recently alleged that an influential figure in the entertainment industry demanded sexual favors in exchange for promoting his songs, endorsements, and chart success.
The comedian shared the revelation on his Instagram story, claiming that the unnamed promoter insisted on a sexual relationship before offering any help in advancing his music career. In response, Don Jazzy urged Oluwadolarz to disclose the identity of the promoter, suggesting that if his claims were genuine, he should “tag the person” rather than keeping them anonymous.
Don Jazzy’s comment, “Tag the person, or it’s a lie, sir,” sparked a wave of reactions on social media. While some saw his statement as a call for transparency, others criticized him, suggesting that his response appeared defensive.
The reactions included various comments questioning Don Jazzy’s motive. A user identified as Juliet Chy remarked, “Why is Don Jazzy always defending anytime this issue comes up? Same thing he did when Kunle spoke about it in his interview.” Another user, I Am D Bull, wrote, “Why do I have a feeling it’s the Don himself,” insinuating suspicion. Comments like “Guilty conscience” and “Why is he saying he should tag the person? Is he the one?” reflected a mix of skepticism and accusations from social media users.
One user, Mheeenarh_, hinted at possible consequences for naming the promoter, saying, “Make him talk make them declare am missing?” suggesting that the comedian might face backlash or intimidation if he reveals the identity. Others warned Oluwadolarz to be cautious, like Mosa Deborah, who said, “Don’t tag the person Oga o. U not getting enough evidence and money for court o,” highlighting concerns over potential legal battles.
The issue of sexual harassment in the entertainment industry has been a recurring topic. Last year, actor Kunle Remi shared a similar story about an influential figure who attempted to coerce him into a sexual relationship, promising fame and wealth. Kunle admitted that he was almost persuaded, believing that success in the industry might require such compromises.
Don Jazzy’s call for transparency has reignited discussions on this sensitive topic, with many urging victims to speak up and expose those involved. However, the backlash against Don Jazzy also suggests a deep-seated mistrust, with some insinuating that his reactions might stem from personal involvement or knowledge of the matter.
As the conversation continues, it remains unclear if Oluwadolarz will heed Don Jazzy’s call and name the promoter in question.
