Army of the Dead director Zack Snyder has announced that the movie, which stars WWE Wrestler and actor Dave Bautista, will be out in winter 2020.
The new project from Netflix will see the story begin with Las Vegas being hit by a zombie plague that is contained with a wall of shipping containers built around the city, resulting in its falling as citizens are being evacuated. One of the Vegas casino owners recruits a team of zombie soldiers (led by Bautista’s character) six years to penetrate the quarantined city and retrieve his money from a safe in his old casino.
The plot details are in line with the screenplay which has been described as a zombie heist adventure.
Zack Snyder is known for directing movies like 300 (2006) and DC’s Man of Steel (2013), Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Justice League (2017).
Army of the Dead should be quite entertaining at least as Snyder’s creative rendering of action movies make him stand out as one of Hollywood’s foremost action filmmakers.
