Popular Nigerian singer Balogun Afolabi, better known by his stage name Seyi Vibez, has just lost his mother.
The singer announced the sad news late Thursday night, 16th of March, where he referred to her as his ancestor.
Taking to his Instagram page, the bereaved afro-pop singer wrote: “Today the Darkest day of my life…March 16. I lost my ancestor! Love you till I go six feet, mum. RIP”
As of the time of reporting, an official statement is yet to be made, therefore the cause of death has not been identified.
After his post, lots of Nigerian entertainers and colleagues in the music industry and beyond have stormed the comment section to sympathize with him.
Seyi Vibez started pursuing his passion for singing, by making covers of his favorite African songs at the time, before he abandoned a corporate career for a life behind the microphone.
His progression in the music scene as a lyrical juggernaut and a skilled vocalist has positioned him as one of the few leading singers in Nigeria promoting indigenous-language pop music.
