Media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Daddy Freeze has reacted to the arrest of singer D’banj.
Recall that he was accused of fraudulently diverting hundreds of naira earmarked by the Nigerian government for the N-Power project, an empowerment programme set up by the Nigerian government in 2016 to address youth unemployment and increase social development.
Investigators alleged that D’banj colluded with some compromised government officials to introduce ghost beneficiaries into the payroll of the scheme. The stipend paid to those beneficiaries was later traced to Dbanj’s account.
Reacting to it, Daddy Freeze pointed out the similarity between his actions and that of the politicians.
He noted how the singer had committed an offence, Nigerians do accuse politicians of engaging in.
In a post on his Instagram page, he wrote, “A Nigerian celeb has been called out for allegedly doing what we accuse politicians of doing… Over to you guys….
He added, “Are our youth really better than our older politicians? Or are they only angry that the older ones have stolen for too long and now is their turn to steal their share?
Are our youth really fighting for the nation or are they simply saying emilokan to steal”
