A commercial sex worker who had a hot argument with a client at Destar Hotel, Asaba, Delta has been arrested by the Police Force for allegedly stabbing client to death.
DSP Andrew Aniamaka, the spokesman of the state command, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Asaba that the police responded to a distress call from the hotel after the incident.
The suspect is currently in police custody, while the case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after a preliminary investigation by the “C Division,’’ Aniamaka said.
The hotel has been deserted, and attempt to speak with its manager was unsuccessful as he was said to have travelled out of Asaba.
However, a bar attendant, who would not be identified, said the incident had thrown “the stakeholders” into mourning.
The sad incident started like a normal argument inside the hotel room, and before we realised it, the man was down with a fatal stab.
The incident happened at about 10.45 p.m., so nobody could actually say what led to the fracas,” he said.
A sex worker was lamenting that the occurrence had brought their business to a standstill describing the sad incident as horrible and unfortunate.
