In the midst of an escalating legal crisis surrounding former U.S. President Donald Trump, comedian Randy Rainbow delivers biting satire in his latest parody video. Trump’s indictment on 37 felony charges, encompassing alleged misconduct such as mishandling classified documents and obstructing justice, serves as comedic fodder for Rainbow’s sharp wit.

In the video, released on Friday, June 23, Rainbow lampoons Trump’s legal defence tactics regarding the serious criminal charges against him. The comedian opens his parody as is his signature style, orchestrating a fictitious interview with Trump, with clips sourced from the former President’s conversation with Fox News’ Bret Baier. The video spotlights a moment in which Trump seemingly insinuates his own obstruction of justice.

Rainbow’s humorous retort arrives swiftly as Trump asserts that the documents he presented to people were not actually “documents per se”. In his quick-witted style, Rainbow teases, “Sweetie, I don’t mean to grab you by the ‘per se’, but according to the indictment, there is a recording of you saying, ‘Look at me, I have classified documents, these are definitely not declassified, look at me, look at me, I’m a big boy. Daddy, please love me.'”

Progressing from the imaginary tête-à-tête with Trump, Rainbow dives into his fresh parody song, christened “Donald in the John With Boxes.” Drawing inspiration from The Beatles’ classic, “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” Rainbow channels his inner Sgt. Pepper to ridicule the notion that Trump stored classified documents in his restroom.

Cloaked in colorful garb, and donning impressive facial hair, Rainbow sings, “Just within reach of his diapers and Pepto/ Our national secrets and nuclear codes. Sits on the can thumbing classified records/ Like they’re old golf magazines.”

This new release aligns with Rainbow’s announcement of his upcoming tour, the aptly named “Randy Rainbow for President”. The tour, scheduled for this fall, will see Rainbow carrying his unique brand of political parodies across the United States. Tickets are now available for purchase on his website.
