Club 57 Releases Official Statement, Denies EFCC Raided Its Club

Popular nightclub, Club 57 has released an official statement concerning the news making the rounds that men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided its premises yesterday.

This is coming after a tweet from EFCC stated that 12 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested at the night club last week Thursday.

EFCC tweeted:

“Operatives of the EFCC early this morning raided Club 57 in Ikoyi, acting on an intelligence report of activities of suspected Internet fraudsters,” the EFCC said in a tweet.

“While some abandoned their exotic cars to evade arrest, some others resisted. 12 suspects were arrested, with 10 cars recovered.”

Denying the claims, Club 57 wrote in an official statement that no official of the commission entered their premises to arrest anyone. They however said that men of the commission were indeed station on the street where their night club is situated and arrested certain people who were of interest to them.
