Canadian Broadway Star Nick Cordero Dies At 41
Nick Cordero had been battling with COVID-19 for some weeks

Canadian actor Nick Cordero has succumbed to the deadly coronavirus.

The musical theater actor who imposing height and charming personality won him a series of tough-guy roles on Broadway, passed on this past Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 41.

Cordero’s death was announced by his wife Amanda Kloots with the following words:

My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth.”

Though Kloots didn’t mention the cause of death, the actor had been hospitalized for three months after contracting the novel coronavirus.

Cordero’s encounter with the disease included weeks of medically-induced coma and the subsequent amputation of his right leg; all chronicled by his wife on Instagram.

Born on September 17, 1978, Nick Cordero was best known for his stage roles on Broadway. He was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Cheech in the 2014 Broadway musical Bullets Over Broadway. His career also included several television and film roles.

Cordero married Amanda Kloots on September 3, 2017. They have a son, Elvis, born in June 2019.

A graduate of Theatre Arts who is also a scriptwriter, editor, director, and movie critic.
