The President, Mohammed Buhari, mourned the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning English monarch in history.
The Queen died on Thursday at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96. Her son, formerly Prince Charles has taken over and is now King Charles III.
Buhari in a series of tweets mourned the late Queen. ”My family and I, and the more than 200 million Nigerians have learned with immense sadness of the passing of the Queen and the end of her unique and wonderful 70-year reign.
Buhari also welcomed his Majesty, King Charles III on his ascension to the throne.
