Moonbin, a member of the K-pop boy band Astro and a South Korean actor, has passed away at the age of 25.

According to reports, he was found unconscious on Wednesday evening in his house located in Gangnam, Seoul.

The police who arrived at the scene revealed that the singer appeared to have taken his own life, but the actual cause of death is yet to be confirmed. An autopsy is expected to be conducted soon.

Moonbin was a member of the popular K-pop band Astro, which debuted in 2016. In a statement issued by Fantiago, Moonbin’s record label, the company expressed its grief over the passing of the talented singer and actor.

The label also requested the public to avoid spreading any speculative or malicious reports about the cause of his death, as it could undermine the investigation and cause additional pain for his family.

In its statement, Fantiago also described the death of Moonbin as “heartbreaking” and stated that it has left everyone associated with the company in a state of “great sadness and shock.” The record label further revealed that Moonbin’s funeral rites will be done as quietly as possible, as requested by his family.

Moonbin began his career as a child actor and model in the early 2000s, and he made his acting debut in the famous Korean drama series, ‘Boys Over Flowers’ in 2009. He later joined Astro in February 2016 at the age of 18. Initially, the group consisted of six singers, but one member left in February 2023.

Moonbin’s sudden passing has left his fans, friends, and colleagues in the industry in shock and disbelief. The K-pop star was known for his exceptional talent and infectious personality, and his contributions to the entertainment industry will always be remembered.
