Nigerians are unhappy about their credit cards being debited and took to social media to call out mobile app company Bolt (Taxify).
Some of them complained about the debits occurring in quick succession, while others said they were charged more than once for a single trip they made.
Bolt Nigeria responded by saying that they do not store credit card data and that their payments partner or bank was possibly having issues. They then stated that they were working with payment processors to investigate the causes of the debits.

We have received reports of riders getting multiple debit alerts.
We are working with our payment processors to investigate the causes of these debits.
Should you receive these debit alerts, please confirm against your bank statements to be sure actual sums were deducted.

The advise is not to unlink your card from Bolt. Move your funds out of your card account.
If Bolt has been compromised, that means the hacker has your card details already.
