Elder statesman and the All Progressives Congress (APC) political stalwart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lost his first son, Jide Tinubu who is a lawyer.
Femi Fani Kayode has never slacked in his criticism of his kinsman, Bola Tinubu. He went as far as to accuse the APC chieftain of selling out the Yoruba race for political gain but he put political allegiance aside to sympathise with Tinubu on the death of his son Jide.
Deeply saddned to hear about the passing of Jide Tinubu, the son of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. May his soul rest in peace and may the Lord grant his family and friends the grace to bear this irreperable loss. It is a real tragedy.
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has also commiserated with the APC national leader over the death of his son, Jide.
Fayose said this in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, on Wednesday.
“I commiserate with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the sudden death of his son, Jide.May God console the Asiwaju Tinubu’s family & may his soul RIP,” the tweet reads.
Condolences messages were posted by Dele Momodu and Arewa Abike Dabiri.
Jide Tinubu reportedly slumped before giving up the ghost
According to a member of the Tinubu family, who asked not to be named because of the sensitive nature of the matter, Jide suddenly collapsed and died from what was suspected to be a heart attack around 9 pm on Tuesday.
“However, after the incidence, close family members rushed him down to hospital on Lagos Island where he was confirmed dead on arrival,” the source told journalists in Lagos
He added that the tragic news was kept secret because the father, Bola Tinubu, was in Abuja for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of his party, the APC.
