In a statement made on Wednesday morning, Bola Tinubu expressed his joy at being declared the President-Elect of Nigeria by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thanking all those who participated in the February 25 election, including supporters of ‘Articulated’, ‘Obidients’, ‘Batified’ and ‘Kwankwasiyya’.

Tinubu, who is the former Lagos State Governor and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his profound humility and gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Nigeria’s 16th president. He acknowledged the importance of this moment as a shining example of democracy in action, and thanked everyone for their trust and support.

Tinubu expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Ibrahim Masari from Katsina, describing him as a trustworthy and dependable leader. He also acknowledged supporters of all political parties who voted for a better Nigeria and placed their trust in the democratic vision of a Nigeria built on shared values.

Tinubu commended INEC for running a credible election, acknowledging that while there were some reported lapses, they were relatively few in number and irrelevant. He encouraged all Nigerians to be proud of this achievement, regardless of whether or not they supported his candidacy.

Tinubu expressed gratitude to President Buhari for supporting his campaign, as well as to his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the party leadership and loyal members for delivering victory to the APC.

He accepted the responsibility of serving the country as a servant rather than a leader, and called on his fellow contestants to work together to build a great Nigeria. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and creativity, promising to work with the youth to improve education and provide credit and loans. Tinubu pledged to ensure that university courses are completed in four years with no more strikes, and that universities have the autonomy to upgrade their syllabuses.

In conclusion, Tinubu promised to work with all Nigerians to make Nigeria a destination for returning home to contribute to the country’s progress, and expressed his confidence in the nation’s ability to perform wonders.
