Respected football transfer specialist, Ben Jacobs, has shed light on a minor complication that has prevented Arsenal from publicly announcing the signing of England’s midfield dynamo, Declan Rice, from West Ham.
Jacobs detailed that while Arsenal has finalised the signing of the England star, they have yet to make a public announcement due to certain discrepancies in the payment structure of the deal.
Earlier this week, the Gunners reportedly sealed a hefty deal worth a staggering £105 million to secure Rice’s services.
Discussing the delay in the official announcement, Jacobs shared his insights with talkSPORT, explaining, “I think with Declan Rice [there are] only minor points around the payment structure, but there is an agreement in principle in place.”
He added that Rice is expected to wait patiently while the final negotiations take place, with high confidence from all parties involved that the matter will be resolved swiftly. This would enable Rice to join the Arsenal squad in good time ahead of the pre-season.
Jacob’s parting comments signaled optimism, as he stated, “I think we can describe Rice, at this point, as effectively a done deal.”
