Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Michael, has revealed how his parents’ separation affected him while growing up as a kid.
He made this known in a conversation with Jackie B on Monday, day 37 of the show, during the workout session at the gym.
According to Michael, his parents’ separation stopped him from bonding with his father while growing up.
Michael said, “Sometimes I feel bad because growing up, we didn’t really have a good relationship with our father because he and mum were ‘beefing’.
“You know how it goes. When the kids are little, chances are they go with their mum. Shout out to my mum. My mum did her best in a real way but her and my dad fighting negatively influenced the kids for sure.
“So, in my entire childhood all the way to like 16, 17 or probably 18, I didn’t have a relationship with my dad at all. When I think back, I’m like, that’s a lot of years that we could have just bonded.”
“When did you guys start bonding?” Jackie B asked.
“It wasn’t till I was in the University. I was like 18 or 19,” Michael replied.
