Atiku’s Son-In-Law Dragged To Court Over Money-Laundering Charges

Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law of former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly laundering $140,000.

Atiku was a contestant against President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general elections, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Similarly, Atiku’s lawyer, Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie was also arraigned for laundering $2million in connection with the polls. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The arraignment took place before the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, August 14.

Justice Nicolas Oweibo adjourned till Thursday and ordered that they be kept under EFCC custody.
