Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, has been suspended from, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The APC in Gwadabawa ward, Yola north LGA of Adamawa state, suspended Boss Mustapha.
The APC Gwadabawa’s chairperson, Mu’azu Kabiru, announced the suspension during a press conference in Yola on Wednesday.
He said Mustapha failed to assist the party at the ward level when his attention was needed.
Although the APC won the governorship election in the LGA through Aisha Binani, the margin of victory was not significant. During the presidential election, the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar won the Yola North LGA.
Kabiru accused the SGF of not valuing the significance of the party’s executives in Gwadabawa, who have worked hard to unite the ward. The duration of the suspension was not specified by the ward chairman.
However, Samaila Tadawus, acting chairperson of the APC in Adamawa, dismissed the suspension, saying that it was unconstitutional.
Tadawus emphasized that the LGA, state working committee, and national working committee (NWC) must approve the suspension or expulsion of any party member before it can take effect.
“We hereby state clearly that such suspension is unconstitutional, null and void, and is of no effect because the state working committee has warned the ward executives in the past to desist from these acts of targeting elders of the party,” Tadawus said.
“The suspension or expulsion of any party member must be approved by their LGA, state working committee, and the national working committee (NWC) before it can stand.
