It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of actor Cody Longo, who was known for his roles in film, television, and soap operas. The young actor was found unresponsive in his bed at a residence in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday.
According to a family member, Cody’s wife, Stephanie, had become concerned after being unable to reach him and asked the police to conduct a welfare check.
Upon their arrival, the police discovered Cody in his bed and pronounced him deceased. The family believes that Cody may have relapsed in his struggle with alcohol abuse, which he had been combating for years and had sought treatment for over the summer. The official cause of death is still under investigation.
Cody made his mark in the entertainment industry, having appeared in 8 episodes of “Days of Our Lives” in 2011 and in the films “Bring It On: Fight to The Finish” and episodes of “Nashville” in 2016. He was most recognized for his role as Eddie Duran in the 78 episodes of “Hollywood Heights.”
His wife Stephanie spoke to TMZ about his death and said, “He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered.” Cody leaves behind his wife, a 7-year-old daughter, a 5-year-old son, and a 1-year-old son. He was only 34 years old.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Cody’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
