Abia State Governor Calls for Igbo Unity and Strategic Thinking
Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, recently hosted the leadership of Nzuko Umunna, a pan-Igbo political organization, at his Umuobiakwa palatial country home. During the meeting, Governor Ikpeazu expressed concern that certain forces were deliberately preventing the Igbo people from leading Nigeria. He urged Ndigbo, as a people, to unite and work together to advance their cause.

The governor noted that Ndigbo had contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria, and that Igbo people could be found in every part of the country. However, he regretted that there was a conspiracy against the Igbos. He encouraged Ndigbo to leverage their unity, compromise, and understanding to chart a path towards their political liberation.

Governor Ikpeazu emphasized the need for Ndigbo to be united against their common enemy rather than being divided against themselves. He advised Ndigbo to expand conversations around their political survival and strengthen their relationship with other ethnic groups across the country.

Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu, the leader of the Nzuko Umunna delegation, stated that their visit to the Governor was to discuss the way forward for Ndigbo. He emphasized the importance of Ndigbo coming together and speaking as one people.

Governor Ikpeazu pledged his unflinching support for Nzuko Umunna, and lauded the organization for its non-partisan approach to politics. The former Minister of Women Affairs, Iyom Josephine Anenih, was also part of the delegation.

In conclusion, Governor Ikpeazu’s call for unity and strategic thinking among Ndigbo is timely and imperative. It is only through collective action and a common vision that the Igbo people can achieve their political aspirations and contribute to the development of Nigeria.
