“Star Wars” Actor Appears in Public After Completing Schizophrenia Care
Jake Lloyd, known for his role as young Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, has made his first public appearance in over a year following his treatment for schizophrenia. The former child actor was recently spotted in Los Angeles, where he kept a low profile during a visit to a local gym.
Lloyd, 34, appeared in good spirits, sporting a trimmed beard while vaping and recycling protein shake containers. This marks the first update on his condition since his mother, Lisa Lloyd, revealed in March that Jake was undergoing mental health treatment after a difficult incident in 2023.
Lisa had previously shared that Jake was hospitalized last year after he turned off their car in the middle of the road. At the time, she described his communication as disorganized, comparing it to “word salad.” However, in the spring, she offered a positive update, noting that Jake was doing much better, becoming more social, and reconnecting with people.
Jake’s struggles with schizophrenia became public in 2015, following several legal issues and hospital stays. After years of challenges, his recent outing suggests that the actor is on the path to recovery and possibly ready for a fresh start.
